I made a cursory google search to check this, but apparently all that came up were programs... is there something that's already built-in in windows that allows me to limit access to my folders? I know about admin limitations, but I want to keep this folder safe even if someone were to get onto my account.

just password protect windows... bam problem fixed.

also unless the files are encrypted there is no such thing as passowrd protection as you could just pop the harddrive into another computer and abuse it...

I guess you can rar files then put a password on the rar file, but if you're talking about files that you need for a program to run then forget it :P

Would you want to wait for the files to unzip every time you wanted to use them? Only downfall to that idea :(

If someone were to get into your account, that file would be vunerable and you wouldn't be able to defend against someone. Especially if they hacked first to get into your account. Pretty much you need to have different passwords for everything.

You can directly play the files from an encrypted rar file, why take them out?

I just want to protect my graphics files. The people in my family might delete something by accident.

you have to extract ti to directly play the files you realize... you typically just don't realize that because small things don't take too long

No i ment the file don't acutally have to be outside of the rar. You should be able to play it from the rar file and thefile will be put into the temp files folder :P
