I am having a dispute with my girlfriend right now since she likes Green Day and she is the only person I know who does. I am trying to convince her which genre Green Day would qualify as and I am claiming that anything they could remotely fit into they suck too bad to be a part of that genre, leaving the only other open genre to be the WANNABE emo band. Do you like them, hate them, tolerate them, or dont care? Also, what genre would you classify them as? If you havnt gathered, I personally hate them.
There is good for their classification. Anyways I do believe their older songs are a lot better then their news ones that have been coming out.
I can tolerate them. I love alot of their music prior to the American idiot album only because everythign before that was real music. When American Idiot came out, I bought it but I hated how they went with decent music but a punk/emo look, it turned me away from what I liked about them in the first place and that ain't cool. Image changes= GAY
I think anyone who argues about where a band is wannabe emo, is a wannabe themselves...since fi you don't like it who cares? you don't have to liten to them...but also i don't like them...
i have nothing better to argue with my girlfriend about, all we can argue about is our differing tastes in music. im far from emo and neither of us are really trying to defend them, as she doesnt like live by them, but i am one of those people who has to prove themselves right, so far it looks like most people are agreeing with me w00t.
Damn, I never new they were hated this much. I like them and their new stuff. I know they lost their punkness in Amercian Idoit, but they still have a good sound. New guitar sounds and all. Don't worry, I'm not the kind of guy that likes the foo foo stuff (jack johnson, U2). I am a Shadows Fall, Slip Knot, MudVayne lover, but I do still like Green Day
They themselves are not even emo i hate how people class music incorrectly, there punk pop, seeing as there punk sellouts. (not flaming just telling it as it is)
Well i don't really bother with them, they can do their own thing in the bg They've done good for themselve's IMO.
they were off the bands that were good punk...but they got popular and they went too sh1t like blink...etc
I think green day is a good band, but they got too much publicity so their music turned to crap. Their old stuff is good though.
There a gay political punk band! lol i kno how to make her think they suck.. get her into something better! ^__^
