I just installed the newer versian of IE7 beta 2, and doing the most miniscule of tasks it seems to use way to much cpu, it has gotten slightly better but it uses like 50% of my cpu ladoing pages. XP SP2 P4 2.66 GHz 1.5 GB of RAM
what you show as an example would be 0%... it's you it doesn't seem to use too many resources on my system and even then who cares... it's only for like 1/10th second. and it won't affect your other programs... it's liek complaining when opening taskmanager raises your CPU useage to 100% for a fraction of a second...
look below thats another ie window i accidently opened, the other ieexplore.exe is shown at 98 %, which it jumps to while dping things like loading a page or switching a tab. and it casues very noticable lag.
why do you have two iexplore.exe files? i thought IE works alongside the windows' explorer... and besides the point, i thought explorer.exe was the windows and IE program, not iexplorer...
on my computer whenever i have ie open its always been iexplore.exe has always been the .exe when i open internet explorer since i got my computer, but i restarted and now there only one open and its still pretty laggy.
it shouls just be iexplore. sounds like a software issue to me though, hardware wise it shouldn't be at tha level constantly. Right now I can't think of anyone specific thing, though if you installed SP2 just for IE7 that might be part of the reason as sp2 has been known to cause various driver conflicts as such. just use opera or firefox though, so much better.
I usually use opera, but i need to use IE for some things, and i have an extreme dislike of IE6, it seems to kinda sorted itself out, but still pretty high cpu usage for a browser.
