Yeah, but those aren't really based on your job experience... honestly, it's whoever finds out and signs up for it first =\ Anyone can test out an MMO really. Also, they don't test the games just to see how fun they are, they need to spend hours clicking and doing anything that they can to see if they can screw up the game (It's a simple philosophy: The best way to see if there are no problems with a program is to get someone who has no idea what they're doing and see if they can screw it up :lol Well, on the job front, well, for online games there's none that are currently needing playtesting, and the only other jobs will require you to travel (if you're in the CA area, usually EA or SCEA need playtesters for console games) or learn Korean or Japanese (in the East Asia front there are tons of new MMOs that need testing) EDIT: Wait... you said GCSE right? That's in Britian, correct? Then forget what I said about the EA/SCEA testing. Honestly, besides doing it through beta testing, I don't know how you're gonna get a gaming job
i rember ages ago when they needed people to test the beta versions of Diablo 2 they way they picked the people were through fan sites makers of the site , nowadays is who you know i feel that for a game tester postion the majourity of people chossen would be pro gamers with a hand full of regular gamers , if you want you should look for smaller compnies might have a better chance there
you dont get paid for beta testing games anyhow. I have beta tested WoW, L2, Vanguard, WiSH, and EQ2 and a couple more and nobody ever gets paid for that. your friend is probably lying. no company would hire a 13 year old to be a game master actually, game master jobs are usually outsourced, so yeah hes lying. you need an associates degree to be a bug tester for a company and you cant do that from home anyway.
stop dreaming. you will not make money from gaming, if you talk about serious money. just get to some factory and do some grunt work, that's honest work for good money. Look for a job that pays 7 or 8 euro an hour that you can do 8 hours a day. Will make you some money. More than you will with gaming. how old are you, btw? oh i just saw on wikipedia that gcse is for 14-16 years old. in that case look for some jobs in a super market or gas station. they usually have some simple work. and yes, best way to get a job is by connections. ask you uncle or so whether there are holiday jobs for youths in his company.
I actually worked as a QA tester for EA back in late 2005...I tested Battlefield 2 for the 360 and made 7 pounds (around 12 dollars) an hour. But the thing is, that was an actual job, I would have to drive to the EA campus every day and work from 9-6...and you have to be 18, so I doubt you can get that sort of job in an online format. This is in the UK btw
