As South Park said recently, "All of it's OK, or none of it is." It would be ridiculous to ban this movie. In fact, it's not even fesible. Unless, you know, you live in China or something. They ban everything.
I really want to know about this Da Vinci code stuff, i saw the book at the library and check it out. But i didnt have time to read it, mind giving me a little overview of the book? That would be cool ;D
Its more or less a mystary type novel in which u have the main character embark on trail solving all these codes.. thats as a blunt as i can say it without revealing anything lol
This movie is just a particular point of view and i don't think any POVs should be banned. Even if i don't agree with it.
i just wanted to say that I brought this up at a christian event tonight and you wouldnt believe the things christians said about how awful this is and how it should be banned and such. it shows that they cant handle someone elses opinion in the matter of religion. how scared they are that they will lose believers simply from a movie. when i said, "if you believe The Da Vinci Code should be banned, shouldnt your points of view on The Passion be banned too?" and they simply replied, "this nation was founded on christian beliefs, hence the 'under god' in our pledge of allegience." Then I brought up that the law states that it is against the law to force ones belief amongst another, and that the government is not above that law, and they all fell silent. The morality of christians and their faith is kind of sickening. They believe before even questioning, almost like they were brainwashed. I was raised in a christian home since I was 10 and until I was about 16 1/2, and yeah, now that I look back on it, it seems like brainwashing. They try to make you tihnk that their beliefs are right at an early age when you dont question or have the ability to fully comprehend the faith and religion. This is not meant to be derogitory towards christians, though it did come out that way due to me being flustered from some of the things said by this christian group. If you take offense to it, I am sorry, but this is pretty good proof that in a group of about 120 christians, about 85 of them were against this movie and it was mainly due to the fact it was expressing ideas/opinions/beliefs differing from theirs.
I havn't read the book, i've seen previews of the film on the website, i don't remember it as i think it was a google search. But google it anyway, it's a nice flash based website if your pc can view flash animations. Also The movie should be viewed and enjoyed by all.
makes no difference to me. im not a christian. and i dont know if christians would be affected. my catholic freind's cool abt it. i never read the book. only saw the documentary. something abt mary magdalaine (dunno spelling) and stuff. i voted show it anyway. my bro did read the book and he keeps mentioning abt "The Albino Assassin".
