    yep...

they are operated as seperate companies though so alienware's "quality" shoudl remain about the same, prices on their intel procs might go down a little though because dell buys in insane volume.

    in short...
Dell buys alienware and say f' it to their gaming procs tossing money into advertising for alienware..
alienware now gets a larger amount of resources through dells mass buying power(well pretty much only for CPUs)... and drained profits, it's only with dell to generate profits.

voodoo>alienware in every aspect save price though

Go find me a computer for 400 dollars with monitor, XP, keyboard and mouse that I can use straight out of the box and come back.

edit: Actually i think Dell has a 300 dollar computer out with all of the above mentioned items.

yeah, so does newegg... the "great qualty" computer series... the only diference between them and dell is that the BIOS isn't locked and that they include AGP ports and tend to use outdated AMD chips... which ass rape ----ty Celeron Ds.

the 300$ dells are ---- though, they need the following:a processor without an excessive l2 cache deficit, a new motherboard(like one with more than one IDE port), new ram, new powersupply, new graphics card, and a fresh windows install.

and who gives a crap if it inclues a huge ass crt monitor worth 50 bucks, just go to a garage sale and pick a better one up for like 20, people give them away. Besides most people have like a ----load of crt monitors, I have like 3 at my dads and 5 at my moms. their CRT upgrade gets you a ----ty small 15 inch lcd monitor with ----ty responce times and low screen resolutions, the crt is better than the "upgrade".

    EDIT, wait
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/ProductList....e=&maxPrice=400
then buy a 20 dollar peice of ---- CRT monitor with 60hrz refresh rates at a decent resolution.. still better than dell quality... toss some more ram in it and it's actually not horid given the fact that you only paid what, 360 -380after monitor and ram upgrades...

It just the fact that you can get a full computer ready to go for 300 dollars.

Most people I know don't just keep 2-3 CRTS sitting around at their house, and the annual garage sales for our area isnt for a couple of months. This means im going to have to spend 50 bucks for a new monitor 25 for 256mb of RAM which has put my 315 to 400. This still rapes the Dell I would get for 400, but go back to the first line on this.

well the 300$ special at dell only has 256 megs of ram anyway so you'de have to do that anyway, wait... spend 30$ for 512 megs of ram...

and most people who buy a new computer buy it to replace an older one and most older ones have like monitors with them attached be it you bought it special or with something.
