What do you know about it? I just watched a documentary on it recently, very interesting. Brief definition: A type of pollution that has caused us to underestimate global warming by reducing heat through sunlight reflective clouds which are a product of our pollution.

Obviously, a vast underestimation of global warming is a bad thing. The documentary had some unpleasant possibilities to offer: destruction of the rain forests, massive soil erosion, release of methane from the bottom of the ocean (ten times worse than the release of all our greenhouse gases, or some such).
The documentary predicted that we had ten years to drastically curb our greenhouse emissions before reaching the point of no return. That point being the point where it is too late to solve the problem, not the date of feeling the brunt of it's predicted effects. So if this is true, we're screwed, because imo we won't stop no matter what.

I have yet to see it refuted. I think it is just starting to catch on though. It will surely be in Al Gore's soon to be released documentary "An Inconvenient Truth", designed to be a frightening movie on the state of the environment (May 24).

    what do you think?

All I know is, that without the global warming, we might have not been able to live on this problem...

Global warming is just one of the many problems we need to deal with before it gets out of hand.

The increase in temperature has made the ice caps melt, which makes the water rise... losing land. Also, the slightest increase in temperatures can cause natural disasters such as hurricanes.

How we're supposed to fix it... no one knows. The plan so far is to let it be, and let future generations use their predicted "advanced" technology to help it. How good this will do... only the future holds the answer. Personally, i think we should be worried now.

Another human problem is resources... and population. Consider how much our population has risen over the last 50 years, 100 years, and 1000 years. It is predicted by 2050 that our population will have reached 10 billion.

With resources being deminished(gases, etc), it will become more and more difficult to live, and with an increase of population, it will be even harder.

Although N. Americas Birth Ratio and Death Ratio are fairly close, 3rd world countries contribute a ---- load to the growth. Most 3rd world families have 6+ children in order to ensure survival. Death is common, so parents take into considering the death of a new born and repeatedily get pregnant. Also, with more children, labour in farming allows the family to be able to support itself. The more children also ensure the parents to be taken care of at old age.

Well i went off topic a bit there lol... back to population. If everyone in the world were to live as someone in N. America, it would take 2 and a half Earth's(resources).

Probably won't kill us all in our lifetime, but its of course an issue that needs to be resolved to ensure human survival in the next hundreads of years.
