    they are no official programs what allow you to transfer songs FROM your Ipod TO your computer. Apple designed the Ipod as a 1 way only. However there are porgrams out there that allow you to take songs off. Ive had two different ones, one worked, and one crashed my ipod. Be careful, make sure the program you have has a good reputation. Remember since there are no official programs by apple, you take full responsibility to what ever happens.

    yeah it works but the files are named wrong because your iPod renames them for some reason, they are right in the info just the display name is changed to 4 random letters

    is that why most of the time you can just go to My Computer -- H:\(or whatever drive) and access everything on the Retail iPod partition (unless your using an OS like slax that'll read all the partitions on it (if you have iPod Linux etc.)) Your iPod (in most cases) can be an mp3 player and a large flash drive.
