Right now , I'm getting suspended in GFX for the meantime due to the PC I have. I don't why but as time goes by my PC gets worst and worst. The specs are basically 3.0gHZ , 256MB RAM , Pentium 4 and if you need any more info i'll let you know. I don't why , but it takes 10 mins to boot up perfectly and another 22 minutes to load firefox from the time I click to open the explorer. I don't have much stuff on my PC but only 2GB of stuff on My Documents and Warcraft III. I'm using CS2 and I did a disk cleanup and installed a trial for Norton Antivirus to scan for virus and there's no more virus anymore. I dont know why its slow ... I really want to get rid of the warranty and put a 256MB RAM stick I had for an older PC which was spoilt. Things that I have are basically my Zen Vision:M mp3 player. I plan to use that to backup files , it has 30GB. I dont know what should I take note to backup. Does having Microsoft Antispyware and Norton Antivirus cause a clash? It's two different things but I just need to know in case. My problem recently occured when I was searching for RM Converters to convert my torrented animes. If you know any free and good RM converter , let me know. I did a deframentation and it didnt seem to improve much. Also does having both Mozilla Firefox and Internet Explorer slow down the PC ? I changed my GUI back to Windows XP and did not use WindowsBlind anymore but I did not un-installed it because its hard to get it back again. Now I feel Acer PC sucks. I dont know much more to say but if you need my to point out anything I would gladly co-operate. I can't stand this PC any longer. It's just way way freaking slow. The NAV and microsoft antispyware has nothing to to with that. It can be a possible WORM or a bad RAM. I'd advise you to FORMAT your PC and make a fresh WINDOWS XP install and all updates, and if possible, upgrade your ram to at least 512. System restoer may help.. but maybe it makes it even worse GL with restore if you wish to.
wipe out your entire drive, and re-install XP. I had a similar problem on one of my grandpa's computers. It would take 10 minutes to open a folder on the desktop. I formatted it, loaded XP onto it, and it was better... The reason it was so slow is because my cousin loaded games on there that included a whole mess of spyware. I couldnt even run a scan on there, it was so slow..
Usually means the same thing Usually Formatting a PC rather than sayin reformatting a PC ok Uninstall Norton and install another AV u will notice a difference - My friend noticed this difference greatly Your RAM is quite low - On my old PC i got 256 and it is very slow - Even though your processor says 3GHZ there are other factors that affect speed 1. Uninstall Norton 2. Uninstall CS2 - That takes way too much memory for your PC to handle especially at 256 - You need a minimum of 512 to run with some lag and 1GB for no lag [I had no lag on both 512 and 1GB but 256 it killed the PC] 3. Uninstall anything to do with windows blind and theme managers 4. Check your startup by going into start menu > Run > msconfig > startup > tick anything that you dont need to start 5. IE and FF doesnt make a difference 6. AntiSpyware and Norton doesnt make a difference 7. Get a 512 stick if you can 8. alright you need to get more ram one gig than get a program called windows watchdog to mointor almost all actvity on your pc especially your start up active tasks etc , but as the above have said you should format your hardrive and start from scratch.
I want to thank all that help me especially Darkstar. Appreciated it. I got a spare HDD by Samsung before. I remembered I tried using it to rectify a problem before becasue the HD said it was corrupted. My mom really doesn't want me to get rid of the warranty if I got myself a 512 stick ... How much would it cost anyway? I want to tick some things that I don't need to start but it's all technical stuff and I don't dare to untick some stuff. I'm afraid that some error might appear. I will uninstall some of the programs you mentioned , but if I put it in my removable disk ( the program folder ) , will it still manage to run?
reinstall windows first drop 30$ on more ram second, 256mb of ram was the standard like in 2001-2, get with the program, windows XP itself uses about300megs fo ram, you have none left for seocndary programs

It seems re-formatting might be the easiest way ... but I got no one to fix back up my Internet again.
First things first...NORTON IS ----..k now download AVG 7.0 (its free and better than norton) run Microsoft DEFENDER <<--NEW VERSION . you have to download it seperatly its not an update. Defrag your pc, Use clean up, And get EZ cleaner to clear you cache files,temp files and you might want reg cleaner aswell, it gets rid of old files that where for programs youve uninstalled. Failing that ....format your drive or get a new pc
