I actually disagree on what most of you are saying. How a sig can't be "pro." Yes they're different styles with sigs that people like and dislike, but it's also the same way with Large Pieces. Just because someone made a sig with C4D doesn't mean that a sig can't be pro when using brushes. But then you look at someone who is new to Photoshop, it's not going to be that good and yes you can rate that to be Novice-Pro or w/e. Also, with Large Pieces it's the same. Sure someone can make an awesome large piece and make it 100% their work, but then someone can not like that piece, make their own that doesn't look that good but to them it does. It's the same thing. And didn't stott sell 3 of his PSD's for $75? Not sure if those were sigs though.
NSL's ratings suck, and I could care less about them. That place has gone downhill ever since G24 became XO of the sig crew. I cannot stand his supreme arrogance and how he thinks he is God's gift to designers. Anyhow, I find the whole rating system in itself to be absolutely ridiculous. When you ask for critique, you should get the good and bad. You shouldn't get "oh that looks pr0". Just my .02
I don't think other people have the right to judge. Calling som eone elses work noob, not pro. But I can undertsand where you're coming from. A person can rank themselves they just need to be able to do it right. To me being pro isnt how you do your gfx it's how you can give the right tips and help people get better. But it can be how you gfx too. I don't make things that often mostly because i'm busy alot of the day. But I've been around it and know the program pretty well..
i noticed how none of the "pro's" replied in here .... funny tht .. and i agree with girly from earlier ... sigs are not gonna be pro .. large art is the way forward ... to try to fill such a large canvas with flow and uniquness (sp? lol ) ...tht really takes talent .. I.E..girlys fractuals !!
i trurly agree sigs cnt be pro unless everyone loves them. people like diffrenet things people hve diffrenet taste u think ur sig might be awesome somone else might think it looks likje u took ---- and threw it on a piece of paper. its all ur personal opinon. the only way i will ever call someone pro in their sigs is if they use their own render tht they cut. they use their own effects tht hvnt been used and make a sig design no1 has seen then ill call them pro. me i like my sig its nothing special graphics wise and technique wise it basically sucks hards nuts. i can admit it. i jus like it cuz i like the render and the colors. its nowere nere the technique and graphix some ppl on here hve. all im trying to say is unless u do something never done before u cnt be pro. there should be 2 ratings ur either a reg sig maker or ur a pro sig maker. tht should be it. and people stop overating urself for stuff u dont deserve. so much ---- ive seen has been taken straight from a tut like the whole thing and they call it a pro sig its so gay. make somethin ur own.
So you're saying that every person loves at least one of the same large piece so that's a pro large piece? No, no one will ever agree on one thing. So I don't see how a sig can't be pro when it's like a mini-large piece.

no such thing as pro sigs, its digital art and theres no such thing as pro art, its an artform where there really isnt one better than the other, its just different people's tastes, even if 50 people hate it and 2 like it
