WTH is semi-pro supposed to be anyway? Is it people trying to get away with forming a "crew" that's filled with mediocrity or what?

methinks being able to slep a few coloring techniques/C4D renders and a regular render on a small canvas isnt pro, its called trendwhore. Besides, signature no matter how much flow or depth they have to them are nothing special, thats whyt I never spend more than a few minutes (about 15 minutes) on my signatures. My last LP took over 25 hours and believe me, it was damn worth it.

Its a matter of opinion, I personally dont like most of the UV/T3 crews stuff, or inevitable, hell, emerald/pegasus, etc. I like what I make because its what I (emphasis on I) like, not trying to be someone who makes things for other people to like.

Art is art reguardless of how others think of it. Its expressive, its not meant to be there for others, its meant to be there for you. I find my drawings/paintings/pastels in real life to be EXTREMELY expressive of how I feel at the time despite how I cant put words behind it. Unfortunately, nowadays crews are only looking for people who can slap a gradient, some C4Ds, a render, some color and some lighting effects on a signature. If you cant do that, your not "pro".

Pro is simply a measure of what someone else is willing to pay for your art. Other peoples opinions are different, how many people do you think liked Picasso's works when they first came out? Not alot, now look at them, they are some of the rarest and most looked up to pieces of art ever. I have sold templates ranging from $10 to $65 and LPs for upwards of $300 in real life art and LPs on the computer for $50. However, you guys wouldnt understand that because my style is different from yours and your egos are too high to see that not everything is made for fame and "fortune".

I don't see who you are to downsize on other peoples work. I didn't do it to you now your criticising basically 95% of gr's work with the "Whored" method. EVERYTHING is whored, your tag's whored. It's how well you can pull it of that counts, sure you can say Art is based on opinion, but there is a general opinion and that is how people class. There's nationally accepted things that "Look Good" nom atter on personal opinion. If you could choose between two girls with the same personality but one's beutifal and the other looks like a corpse, your going to go for the first one. Not because she IS better looking, but because Thing etc. is what is nationally worldly accepted as good looking.

No, im expressing my opinon of how i personally dislike 95% of GRs work (and that would be about accurate), if you take that as an insult your just proving my point that your art is more for others than it is for yourself.

And I dont really care if my stuff is whored as people base me off my signatures, not my LPs, not the things where I actually do spend time on. Using a render your sig is whored period unless you created the entire signature from scratch with your own renders, 100% your own techniques, etc.

Art is not a general opinion as far as im conerned, if your creating your art by means of trying to suit others your cutting yourself short handed. As said with Picasso, he was far away from standard art during his time and now he is one of the most appreciated artists of all time, he didnt follow the general rule of art, he did what he wanted. Did him making odd paintings back then stop him from doing it? No, it was expressive, which is how art should be.

As I said, signatures are really worth nothing, they are things with your name in them that let people know this is you, thats it. Its hard to express something in a 300x90 (my personal pref.) canvas.

And actually I would go for the corpse looking girl, i find girls like that to be attractive as its the type of thing im into (if i had my picture around still then you would have seen that).

I never said Art is a general opinion, but that's what it is rated on. Tags and LP's Etc. all fall under ratings. You can hardly denie there is an "Accepted" level which people class as pro, even if it isn't pro, (In the money selling sense)

And for one, I agree. Art isn't about what others like, it's about self expression, with LP's and in RL. But Tag's arent about expression, they are about Aesthetics and theres always going to be a standard "Pro" Category.

    Your also contradicting yourself.
Your "Crew" is accepting Semi-Pro, Pro only. Yet, as you've said yourself there isn't ratings for art apparently. Who are you to decide whether the applying people are pro or not? Your basing the level on YOUR opinion, therefore their art must meet YOUR needs, not theirs.

Tags are rated by people who think they have the ability. I honestly dont think your seeing my point of view with Picasso, not to be mean or anything. He really was worth nothing when he made his paintings, only those with odd taste would even consider buying his work, but it still sold, it kept food on his table, etc.

There is a general grasp of a rating chart, but there are people who dont like to follow that chart. Technically, if you want to get into it, everything I have sold outside of thise site is pro, as I have made way more for a single piece of artwork than most people here. Is it considered "pro"? No. Is it considered self expressive to the point that someone else may find it expressive of their feelings enough to buy it? Yes.

My crew, is as far as im conerned, a group of people I can talk to who arent arrogant pricks who think that aesthetics and peoples love is everything. I could care less about anyones artwork as long as it meant something to them. My sigs, my LPs (in life and online, WAY better in life), and numerous other things all mean atleast a little to me, and whether you like them or not, I dont care. I dont care that I am not considered "pro" because I make things I personally like and fall away from the general rating system.

A pro, as far as im concerned, is simply a person who can express themselves without a care for anyone elses opinion through their art. One of the reasons I dont ask for ratings or comments or suggestions. When I sell something I dont say "pro" or "inter-pro" to get people to look at it, I say, ".Dementia Signature for Sale" and you know what? My recent works, despite not being "pro" have all been getting upwards of 450-550 credits when I choose to sell them, despite they arent the type of work you would expect to see on the standardized rating scale.
