    This became a very interesting topic on another forum so I decided to create it here. What is your opinion on gay marrige do you think it should be allowed, not allowed, or do you not just care.

    Here is my opinion on it. I think that it should be allowed. Even if they aren't married they will still live together so why not let them get the benefits of marrige like insurance on the other person. My friend is against gay marrige and he says that it was meant to be between a man and a women. But marrige was also meant to bond two people together for the rest of their lives and now it has become such a joke that divorce rate is enormous.

    Now think about this in terms of religion. Just because religion is illegal in one country does that stop people from being that religion? No, it just makes them pissed off at the government. Like homosexuality your religion is your way of life. Think about this, the percent of people in the world that are christian I beleive is about 33% and Jewish is about 0.2% (this was an estimate from 2000). Many more people are Christian than Jewish but does that make Christianity right? Can anyone prove that being Jewish (or gay) is wrong? What I beleive was that we were put on this Earth to have a great experience and to be happy. Not to hate other people or make their lives miserable by mistreating them. If there is a god and he does not agree with homosexuality he probably thinks that hating someone for being a homosexual is just as bad as the homosexual itself.

    By the way I am not religous or gay I just want to hear your opinions.

    While in this topic do not call somebody else gay because they defend gay people.

    By the way I live in the US and I don't know where other countries stand on gay marriges.

    Im not religious, and not gay, so this opinion is pretty unbiased.

    I say let it. It doesnt affect you in any way. And dont give this religious BS, because (im assuming it's in the US) getting married has to do with the government. Since ours isnt a theocracy, you cant say gays cant be married because it's a religious thing. They cant be married in a church, no, but they can be married.

    Another thing, sanctity, comes up. BS gay married couples cant love each other as much as straight couples. Look at how many divorces there are these days.

    They'll be together anyway, so those of you saying it's just wrong for them to be together, bash this point into your thick skulls: THEYLL BE TOGETHER, MARRIED OR NOT.

    So if theyll be together either way, it doesnt directly affect you AT ALL, and they love each other, why not let them have the papers and benifits saying they love each other?

    *This whole post was directed at people who dont think gay marriage should be allowed*

    Okay I am not religous and I don't know anything about religion but I don't think that god put us on this Earth just to have kids. Do you think that he put us on this Earth to go to work everyday come home raise your kids until you die? I highly doubt he put us on this Earth just for us to keep our race going. Besides overcrowding is becoming a problem so gay people are doing us a favor lol.

    If gay marriages are allowed, then incest should be allowed too; they both derived from religion. And yes, I totally disagree with gay marriages. GOD MADE ADAM AND EVE, NOT ADAM AND STEVE.

    Okay well since I read this I might as well address both topics of this. Why God put us on this Earth and then my opinion on Gay Marriage. So here they are. And yes I am Christian.

    First off, no, God did not put us on this Earth JUST to have kids and keep or population running forever and ever. This is not possible anyway, because one day the Earth and everything will end. But he did put us on this Earth, to keep it as long as we can. But that is not the only reason, it may be a main reason, but it is not THE reason. THE reason God put us on this Earth was to Love him. God wanted to be Loved, basic and straight to the point. Does everyone love him or even believe in him? No. But the people that do, he gets enjoyment from. Not that he does not get enjoyment from others, that is why we are here. Any other questions, feel free to ask.

    Then here is my opinion on Gay Marriage. As you know, since I am Christian I believe it is wrong. Not soley because of that though. But yes, it is the primary factor of my decision. The reason being, is in the Bible, God even states, not in these exact words, but that Man should Marry a WOMAN. And that being Gay IS a sin. Although many people will argue with that, that is the fact. So I do not think it is right for people to be allowed to have gay marriages. They try to say they were born with it, and they cant help it. But in fact it was THEIR decision. So just because of that, it does not make it right. I mean a man and man, or woman and woman will have no help to society. They will be discriminated and get angry at people, but in fact it is their fault. And like above, they will not have children, which...well here, put it this way. What was one of the main downfalls of Rome. HOMOSEXUALISM. So by saying it is alright, and allowing marriage, more and more people will think it is alright, and then what? So you see, to me, no it is not right.

    I really don't personally like to see it. I don't hate gay people, I hate it when a gay man overly flaunts his feminism to the public, but there is nothing I can legally do about it but walk away. I would just like to see it kept behind closed doors, but its not possible to do that anymore.

    Okay, I understand that your religion is against gay people but can you prove that your religion is right? I will use Islam as an example. Say that one person is a Muslim and the other one is Christian, the Muslim person thinks that the Muslim faith is correct and the Christian person thinks that Christianity is completely correct but can you absolutely prove that you are right and the other person is wrong? No, and therefore saying that we were put on this Earth to be with someone of the oppisite gender would be your opinion. People should keep that in mind because there is no way to prove that being gay is wrong.

    I am a Christian (rather hardcore, but by no means fundy), and I do have friends that are gay. I do think that homosexuality is a sin, and though I have swayed on the issue, I have recently (in fact in the past two days), come to the conclusion that gay marraige is a no-no. God did make men to have sex with women, and the other way around.

    Essentially, life should be;
    1: be brought up by your parents and abstain from any sexual intercourse (oral/anal/vaginal/whatever you could possibly think of)
    2: Become engaged to your opposite (man to woman, woman to man, I think you get the picture)
    3: You're still not having sex... sorry.
    4: Now you're married. Have sex! Tons of it. Have fon and have sex with your opposite (man on woman, woman on man).

    God made people to have sex, and to reproduce, that's why we have genitals. But God made a part a and part b which can each be found on the corresponding crotchal area of the opposite sexes. These go together.

    Lemme draw something out!

    1.Butts are not meant for sexual intercourse. They are designed to excrete, nothing more, nothing less.

    2.Mouths are not meant for sexual intercourse. They are designed to allow for speaking and eating, nothing more, nothing less (well, except maybe breathing).

    3. If you can't have sex in a reasonable way (vaginal) than you shouldn't be with the person. Sex is sacred and should be desired. Not wanting sex or wanting it with someone of the same sex [I believe] shows 1 of 2 things;
    a- you have issues that need to be dealt with. These could stream from one of many problems.
    b- you have a habitual sin that needs to be dealt with. You might be given pleasure from homosexual intercourse, and you may have fooled yourself into thinking your in love with another person of the same sex. But the truth is anyone can mistake a relationship and if you have an orgasm you're gonna be pleasured.

    Finally, it says multiple times in the bible that homosexuality is a sin. Sure, that doesn't mean anything to non-Christians, but to me it means a lot. Paul says it specifically. I don't feel like drawing up the reference now (it should be somewhere in one of the Corinthians... I should know this). Among other things, Paul says "The wicked shall not inherit the kingdom of God, nor the homosexual."

    Also, if we're going to allow gay marraige we might as well start calling incest normal and allow 5 people to all marry each other. Hey, pilygamy (sp?) should be allowed to!

    Now, I'm very sorry if I've offended anyone on here (whether gay or not). I don't hate anyone cause they're gay. I'm not going to kill you or flood your e-mail account with "Your disgusting fag!!!" letters. In fact, I make a point not to get onto anyone who uses to term "fag" or refers to something stupid as "gay." I think that's quite rude. Everybody is just a person to me, and if you're a Christian and you're gay I probably will yell at you (just like I would yell at a Christian who is comitting adultery, having pre-maridal sex, stealing, whatever). But if you're not a Christian I'll leave you be. Heck, if I yelled at every person ever for every sin they comitted, I wouldn't have time to do anything else. If I just yelled at mySELF for every sin I comitted I wouldn't have time to do anything else.

    So please don't take any of this the wrong way. It's just the way I see it.

    They can get married. Doesn't hurt me, and why hate more than I have to? There is so much hate in the world already. Just so they aren't being obnoxious about it, ya know? If they wanna get married, fine by me.

    If two men want to be wed then so be it. Its none of my business to stop them and niether is it Bush's. The states govern marriage laws, not the federal government.
