What you need to do is perform a system restore.

Start -> All Programs -> Accessories -> System Tools -> System Restore

Just follow the instructions there and you be done in no time.

That is what you need to do unless there are no restore points in which case the songs are gone. System Restore is a useful tool but it will also bring back the files your dad deleted.

What did you do? I'm guessing that you didnt choose the date you wanted it restore back to, or you picked the first restoration point there and applied it. So right now your back at; probably when you first got your computer. All you need to do is go back to System Restore and when the first screen pop-ups up, select "Undo my last restoration" and apply it. It will take you back, undoing your last restore.

    Okay.

I ran the restore and I thought today was the 17 and it said 16 so I did it and well, ofcourse it was today.

    So I undid it.

Now im back where I was 20 minutes ago. IF I try undo again it says same thing-

    sunday, april 16

which operating system are you using? XP or what. When you select restore to a earlier time there should be the dates in blue which tells you what you have installed and if you got the windows update. You didn't have to go all the way to the first restore date like Korupt said. Do what Korupt says and then choose a restore date that is a couple of days before the 15th of April or a earlier date.

So you can't go back to March and see if there are restore dates there?

so u undid the first system restore which is the checkpoint? If you click on the 3rd and restore and none of the other checkpoints come back then basically all files are gone.

*always back up files you want to keep in a cd-r*
