I reformatted last week, installed AVG,Ad-aware,Zone alarm, Spybot-search and destroy, windows defender beta, Spyware doctor and my computer has suddenly starting to slow down.... It takes like 5 seconds now to load gamerenders on firefox and other sites to andits really annoying it onyl slows down when my comp is on for like more then 2 hours and it fixes itself when i restart but as i say it slows down after being on like sometimes an hour or so. Can any on help plz?
stop some of those background programs... go to start -> run -> type msconfig -> go to the startup tab, and uncheck anything that does not need to start up.. edit: that, too, Xelink...
then you ust have a ----laod of things on startup disable them, with 768mb of ram that shouldn't be a huge isssue unless you have a lot of things going, with only 512 it took like 4 or 5 hours before that started happening, you should have about twice the availabel ram though since windows itself steals about 200-300mb of ram

Havint that many Virus Protection things is kinda bad. They can cancel each other out. I suggest keeping AVG, Ad-Aware, and Zone Alarm. Spybot S&D is just like Ad-Aware and I dont like Spyware doctor it messed up my computer the one time.
Spy bto and adaware is the best spyware combination, They both find things that the other one would miss.
