lol, akw, every time you post your alienware, like 20+ people say its overpriced. HOLY CRAP, WE GET THE MESSEGE. lol.

9.7/10. if it can run just about any game on high settings, we shouldnt worry about whether its intel or amd. thats my opinion, but i know some of you are really paranoid about a 20-40 deg C difference

exactly. it was a silly purchase. He bought it for bragging rights, the funny thing is people turn right around and tell him what a waste.

I just bought that mattress and box spring too.. you like it huh? XD

My purchase is what it is and a game on some occasions. Also, if you will think real hard, I don't get these gay ass RAM messages in my PS like you guys do. XP

Read some reviews. One wins OpenGL and the Other wins DirectX and Video.

I dont and mine is a $750 rig in US. $1500 AUS when I got it.
To not get those issues you just get 1gb of ram. simple. Its better than going out to pay $3000 USD for a machine that is -
    a) Not being utilised at all
    b.) overpriced
    c) going to be outdated in 8 months due to vista and dx10.

Scratch that prediction, more like $4,600+ USD, and that's not including the monitor or anything else he didn't post the exact specs for. Atleast, that's how it comes out configured on alienware's site(if I did it right).

And I agree with Defuzion here, you payed waaay to much for a computer that you don't game on. I wouldn't even pay that much for a rig I do game on.

then why the hell did you drop 600$(wait you bought from alienware, 800$) on a top of the lines GFX card?

    http://www.digit-life.com/articles2/cpu/in...ium-xe-955.html

the PXE 955(which costs 1100$) can't outdo a x2 4800+ in a lot of cases and costs TWICE as much. you don't have a PXE, you have a pentium D which has lower FSB(FSB being a major performance hindrance to the PDs and P4) if you did research, you would have seen this, even 3d rendering which typically favors intel is given to AMD in dual core processing, due to the bandwidth issue(as netburst needs shidloads of it)

if you insisted on an intel proc you shoudl have gotten a 2/8 ghz PXE and just notched the multiplier up to maybe 4 or 4.5 ghz on that insane "alien cooling" you have.

you would be surprised at how well an x2 3800+ stands up to a 3.2ghz pxe for general use.
