Not sure if this chould go in computer, but w/e My zen micro has the infamous headphone jack problem. I've been using my pda temporarily as an mp3 player, and becuase of that, forgot to RMA the thing. Well all the sudden I'm going on vacation in a few days and having 21 songs for an entire week isnt too appealing, and i dont have time to RMA it now... I'm good with a soldering iron, and I hear the headphone jack problem is mainly just a solder issue. But I cant get the damn thing open >.> ANyone know how to open the zen micro's case?
where when you move the headpphones around they lose connectivity. Mines gotten to the point where no matter how i move them all i hear is garbled noise...
ok, i have a Zen micro myself. Yes, it does get garbled, and only comes out of one earpiece. I found a way to fix it though. read carefully. put the headphones in like you normally would. then pull it out about a few millimeters, until you can hear clean sound again.
ahh I have that on my zen nano then, all I did was pull it a thrid the way out of the jack so it wasn't all the way in and it fixed it. Any chance I could RMA it though? I always assumed I got bread crumbs stuck in it from leaving it in my backpack.
I just got my response from creative a little while ago, I doubt they're gonna do it for free, but they are gonna fix it. Of course, in my case, I know they wont do it for free.. i accidently broke the warrently sticker <.<;;;
True true. . . It's alright though. I bought mine proudly for my extra 100$ and havn't had one problem yet and I feel as if I wont. I also think the battery issue is BS. But, I heard the Zen is nice too.
Its definatly a nice player, although I'm not sure how crazy I am about the vertical scroll. Its easier to go in a circle compared to up and down And xmaster, i just rezlized my battery is dead so when it gets somewhat recharged I'm try your idea. Edit: Got it charged enough to start. Didnt work.
I'm trying to think of a way to possibly get a new one or a new something in the few days I have before going on vacation. Like maybe buy a new one, get the other fixed and ebay it when its fixed. Anyone got any ideas?
one reason why i really like my ipod video, i can easily bull---- the workers there and get a new one im on my third ipod video since christmas. the first time the 'hold' thing wasnt working, that wasnt my fault, but the second time... ROFL, completly was. i keep it in the front of my backpack at school, and i threw my backpack across the room and the front hit a desk dead on... it smashed the headphones into the screen, breaking the screens color and leaving a black hole in the middle of the screen the size of a headphone. i brought it there, they were like 'this is obviously an accident done by you, not a hardware issue' and i was like 'oh yeah, well like after a week of having the ipod, the screen would turn red whening watching a movie' and they still said 'no'. so i got the manager and he was like '... yeah, just get another one' and im like (in my head) 'haha, JACKPOT!!' lol. just a fun adventure i had
plus an extra 70$ to buy a battery from apple when it dies... even though the battery is only worth 20 or 30$. Lets not forget that apple has a higher hardware failure rate as well and hasn't invest nearly as heavily into investing in audio technology as creative.
