Ok, lately, when I play my favorite online game, GunBound, everytime I quit the game, it would restart my computer, the wrong way...

So I reinstalled it, no diff

I downloaded a newer install of it, no diff

So, I talked to some of my friends, they thought it was my CPU (Socket A AMD Athlon XP 3000)

But then I looked up this kind of behavior.

One site said it could be overheating. Now, I keep a close look on my temps, barely go above 40C. So it couldn't be...

Another said it could be bad RAM. Now, at that, I scratched my head.

*Flash-back* I did upgrade my PC earlier, and the game worked fine before it.. So it was either my PSU, GFX, or RAM.

Couldn't be my PSU, I left it on for a few nights, so that wasn't it..
Couldn't be my GFX, I keep it cool, and I could play B&W2 excellent..
So, *Ding Ding*, had to be my RAM...

Now, I got 1gb (2x 512 Dual Channel) Kingston DDR400, although my ASRock Socket A mobo did not support Dual Channel....

    Hmm. <_<

Tomorrow (Today, actually, if you look at the time), I am going to Swap my dad's 512 stick to see if it is my RAM.

If it is, bad part on your reasoning, .DeFuZioN . Don't blame you, just.... damnit if it's true......

Dual channel or not will not make a difference. all (except really old ram) is dual channel.

Can you download memtest86+ (dont forget the +).
burn it to a bootable cd. Boot up and run the first 5 tests, if there are errors let us know and RMA that ram.

Yes, then run 3dmark03 and all the benchmarks, because that doesn't sound like Ram faults

running 3dmark would do nothing. its a useless benchmark.
you have to do Prime95, memtest86+ and SuperPi as proper benches and stability tests.

Well, run the tests as DeF said, maybe you can check the motherboard manufactors site for ram compability.

Prime95 stresses the CPU not the RAM, but ya run the memtest and post back. Make sure you have the most recent bios or if there are modded bios for the ram/mobo youre using.

How long did you run them for.... all stress tests should be run for a minimum of 7hours straight.

no way. you only need to do memtest til you have passed test 5. if you wany 7 would be better.
Prime95 stresses both ram and cpu. and only needs to be run for 10 minutes to say whether you system is stable or not in a non-overclocking evironment.
