Your probably right. It probably has been done before. But im not saying im the first person to do this, am I? Its not illegal. You are allowed to rip your own cds. If you use them, and dont sell or distribute it, its ok.

Im not a idiot and I wouldnt post it on a public forum if I knew it was illegal. I guess I just don't know enough about copyright laws as I should.

There is an argument though. You aren't stealing any property. You aren't stopping anyone from owning that disc. To steal it would be to take the CD itself. You merely take the data. If I even downloaded a song, I don't steal anything. It's not stopping anyone from owning it. Stealing a candybar means no one else can own it. As from dictionary.com:

    1. To take (the property of another) without right or permission.

Yet no property is taken. And when you burn a CD, that CD is yours. You own the CD.

And this argument was for all "illegal" music, not just what he posted, even though I did not see it I can easily assume what it is.

The song is the property of the composer, when you buy it, they are getting the money for what they own, if you download it, they aren't getting the money. So it is stealing.

You aren't stealing their money. They didn't pay for the song and try to sell it later. Stealing a CD from a store would make the store lose money. However, they just don't earn money.
