HOW TO DETECT A 2-WAY MIRROR: When we visit bathrooms, hotel rooms, changing rooms, etc., how many of you know for sure that the seemingly ordinary mirror hanging on the wall is a real mirror, or actually a 2-way mirror (i.e. they can see you, but you can't see them)? There have been many cases of people installing 2-way mirrors in female changing rooms. It is very difficult to positively identify the surface by just looking at it. It's time to get paranoid. So, how do we determine with any amount of certainty? Just conduct this simple test: Place the tip of your fingernail against the reflective surface and if there is a GAP between your fingernail and the image of the nail, then it is a GENUINE mirror. However, if your fingernail DIRECTLY TOUCHES the image of your nail, then BEWARE, for it is a 2-way mirror! So if not at home and changing before a mirror, do the "fingernail test". It doesn't cost you anything. It is simple to do, and it might save you from getting "visually raped"! Forward this message from Cafe Vision to everyone you know!
you could just put your eyes up to it and cover your eyes so thatmost light is blocked and look through...

damn it, ive been caught *sigh* lol you guys are overly paranoid... not directed at you or anyone i know personally but, in some cases, wouldnt it be beneficial to the men NOT to have a two way mirror, i mean, i dont want a whale changing in front of me...
Good trick, although Im not a girl, and Im pretty ugly, so I dont think anyonw would want to look at me
lol, i never knew this was an issue. i think you dont have to test it if u are in an outlet type store, but maybe if you are in a crappy ghetto store.
We've recently have had a simular problem. I work in security. I.E. camera systems ect. One of the techs here. HES FIRED and no longer works here... I beleive he recieved jail time. Put a smoke detector Camera in the womens bathroom of a bar. You can't tell that it's a camera. We put them in clocks also.. So I could understand some people being paranoid.
