hah, bonafide and I both got the same ram(currently using it)... that G.Skill was down to 150$ for a while but it got bumped up

more or less this is what I say:

    opteron 165 or 170

    2GB ram
    Gksill : see bona's link
    OCZ gold
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16820227066
10 bucks more but has a 40$ rebate if you're patient
    HDD
WD1500 raptor(leaves adding another one for RAID0 in ayear or two as a nice option, own it and love it)

or two(2) fo these in RAID0 for now
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16822144701

    GFX card:
    7900GT

    Mobo
    DFI ultra D

links included for anything not previously referenced to.

listen to defuzion on more or less everything else, though get DDR500 ram if you want to OC. if you don't want to OC swap to the ram he recomended and get a 4400+

you forgot a case, you forgot a PSU.

the 7900GT slightly outperforms the 7800GTX, it's also 200-250$ cheaper. runs cooler, uses les energy, and is smaller. did I mention it was cheaper?

your setup other that is fine for the most part, though your setup isn't necessarily OC based so you could get cheaper ram.

    price efficient:

    Duron 1800+
    128mb radeon 9200SE
    1gb pc2100
    60gb HD
    regular CDROM
    CASE (generic)
    30$ PC-CHIPS Mobo
    dinky 20$ powersupply
    *********************

in all, costs about 800$, so if you dont have money to blow, this computer is cost efficient, and i haven't had any problems with this computer yet, if you want it, contact me and i'll tell you where to buy each piece. :P

    opteron 144
    1GB DDR400ram
    ATI x200 chipset motherboard
    80gb hdd

    50$ case/PSU combo

don't spam, that was stupid. especially don't spam if you haven't updated prices in the last 3 years. They do not even make durons anymore.
