I just bought a new Ati 512mb PCI-E card. I have been trying to get the dual monitor setup to work but the secondary screen is acting up. Before reboot it was working just fine but for some reason after reboot it wont let me move the mouse over to the seconday screen. That and i was looking at my video card and there is a slot to plug in a power cord from the power supply into, it said it was optional, but will it help it if it do plug it in?

Try rebooting it again, computers are funny with things like that.
Get the newest drivers for the card.
    Reinstal the drivers.
Settings for the drivers and the monitors in windows.

RIght click desktop, click settings, hit your secondary monitor (assuming it shows up), and make sure that the "extend my windows desktop to this screen" is checked

You NEED to plug in the power cable. Its for extra power for the gfx card or it wont run too well. Also whats your Power Supply amerage?

yeah defusion is right, ur system will be very unstable without the power supply plugged in.. heres an example of the importance on the power supply for video card: i got the 6800GS and i did use the power cord but i only had 300WATTs now i have 420WATTs and my system is very stable and bf2 runs on high settings with no lag as it used to without much power to the video card....
