I got a cpu tempurature measure program. And at 5% overclocking, with like iTunes on and the avast internet protection thing working it's at 53-56 degrees. I wouldn't have a problem with this, but when I play games for a long time at high quality my compter beeps. I think its saying SOS in morse so I'm kinda worried. is 55 normal? is beeping normal? do i need to buy a new heatsink for my cpu?

    Someone help meh.

    Edit: When I say 53-55, I don't mean farenhiet...that would be gewd...it's at 53-56 C

Damn that is hot. I would suggest getting a fan speed controler and turning up the speeds. It might ware out the fans or use up a little more eletricity, but that is better to spend 5 bucks on a new fan than 300 on a new motherboard.

    Look here: download.com

Do you still have the standard cpu cooler on it?

anytime you OC, you should get more than just the stock fan that came with it. get a Zalman. the one I bought came with a little device that controlls the speed of the fan... have it on medium when surfing, high when playing games, and low when it is on standby.

might want to look at water cooling...

My computer's cpu runs around 44 C, and I thought that was bad, until I looked at the processor spec sheet, and the temperature on it said "66 C", so that cleared my worries.

Try figuring out what temp it should be before worrying, like I did.

FYI, silicon doesn't melt until a few hundred degrees F, you're fine it won't melt. it might become unuseable, but it mopst certainely will not melt.

ou dont only need a new heatsink/fan-lol

Maybe a decent ventilated case with a few fans, and a decent cooling CPU fan :) Heatsink rather oldy maybe [correct me hehe]
