My friend gave me permission to post this. It can be found on gamefaqs.com.

Not much is known about your character in the beginning. You see him journey to a far away land where he enters a temple and places a dead woman on an altar. He then speaks with a deity that tells him that there is only one way to bring back her soul... He is to kill the colossi that walk the land. This is where your journey begins.

    Story 10/10:
I must say that this is very impressive. At first you might think, what's so special about bringing a dead girl back to life by killing several large monsters? That's the beauty of it my friends. They recycled a rather overused concept and revamped it into something that actually works. As you go through the story, you just get a feeling that it completely works, which is exactly what the developers were hoping for.

    Graphics 10/10:
Especially for the PS2, this is incredibly amazing. The environments are so well created and extremely real looking, it almost pulls you directly into the game. You WILL find yourself just stopping and admiring the scenery in this game. They are very beautiful and will have a hard time not being impressed. Enemies are very cool and sinister looking and are well developed and designed with much detail.

    Sounds 9/10:
The music is great. You will find that this alone can give you clues as to what is going on around you. I can assure you that there are many CRASHES and BOOMS and even more THUDS in this game.

    Gameplay 10/10:
The greatest aspects of the game lie in here. The controls are very basic, left analog to move, right analog to position the camera and square to swing down your mighty sword. When you begin, you speak to a deity named Dormin. He/she/it tells you how to save the girl who you have brought. It tells you to kill 16 colossi that curse the land. Along the way, Dormin gives you helpful hints on how to kill the colossal beasts. All you have is your bow, you horse, Agro, and your sword. But you hold no ordinary sword. The sword is the Sword of Light. And it does, you guessed it, collects light. "That's all it does? That sucks..." Wrong. The Sword of Light does a lot more than collect light... if you hit things, it hurts them. But seriously, using the Circle button, you hold the sword in the sunlight and it reflects light. This may seem useless but you control where you reflect the light. The light plays an important role. Where all the rays of light converge is where your next objective lies. To get to the colossus, you either go on foot(LONG WAY!) or you can take your horse(Quick way). The controls while on your horse are a little hard to get used to but when you do get used to it, it can be another fun part in the game. The horse is smart enough not to run off cliffs or bump into walls or any other obstruction that will send you spiraling into an abyss of doom. There are some cool moves while on the horse like jumping off of it or standing on it while firing arrows. But sometimes, the game prompts you to leave the horse and trudge on foot but it's usually close enough to the colossus that it won't be much of a long walk. The horse is your companion. He is there for you to use and you should all the time. The sword not only tells you where the colossi are, it also exposes their weak-points and vital areas. It's your job to find them and dispose of them. If you haven't figured it out already, this entire game is all boss battles. Not a single small monster to beat on. But it isn't disappointing. The bosses are so freaking huge, it's like 80 small battles wrapped into one. There are also different ways to slay a colossus(Same spots, just a different way up). Whenever you can't seem to find a way up, they are usually right next to the weak-points so it is pretty impossible to miss them. When a colossus is slain, you are returned to the temple where you started and you receive your next clue from Dormin. This is repeated 16 times. If you ever want to fight a colossus again, go back to where you fought it, find its corpse and you will trigger a flashback where you are able to fight it again. If slaying colossi begins to get boring(doubt it), try doing the Time Attack. This gives you a set amount of time you have to defeat a colossus. If you beat the times, you can get special items from them.

    Re-Play Value 10/10:
As mentioned above, there is a Time Attack mode which gives you a reason to play it over. There are even different difficulties for the Time Attack which will keep you coming back for more. This game was meant to be played repeatedly.

This is a must buy. Some may be put off by the huge bosses and the "all bosses" part of the game but it really is an incredible experience in gaming. It will be a classic for sure.

Ive rented this game, beat in about 3 or 4 days. I dont think this game is worth buying though, simply because its short and not to much replay value in my opinion.
But its defintly a must rent! Just to battle the flying sand worm is reason enough.

    BTW, nice review.

This game is one of the best in my collection. The bonuses you get for completing the game isn't much but you'll get a kick out of the game itself. The artwork is superb. You gotta use your head in the battles. I especially enjoy the sand snake with the Big eyes.

    Great Review

I've yet to play this game, but from everything i've heard about it i should go out and try it one day. It just didn't sound very good to me, i thought it'd be short and boring but from the sounds of it i was wrong :)

yeah, great game. my bro and i co-oped on it. he defeated we took turns defeating the monsters. then we played it again and we swapped monsters. the sand snake one was most interesting because you had to ride your horse on that one. every Colossus is unique. yea, buy it!
