Well i wnat to setup a dedicate dserver but dont know how to install amxx onto it and everything any one have any help?
clean up your english a bit... i believe a dedicated server has to be on a pretty fast connection.. like a T2 connection? plus, you need a really powerful server to make it 'dedicated'
THe server just needs to be devoted to one website to be dedicated, doesnt neccessarily need to be anything good
^ yeah, doesnt have to be that good. my friend runs a deticated counter strike server on like a crummy old processor with like 256 mb RAM or w/e and i still manage like 160 ping and he only has like 1000 kb/s connection.
You can make a dedicated server of every computer. The only thing you need to considere is what you are gona run on it and how much it is going to be used.
I got cable prety fast my computer has atleast a gig of ram and a prety fast proccesor and a 250 gig hard drive i think it can run a dedicated server till i get the money to rent one.
k, well gl with that. and what are you talking about? why do we want to know your computer specs and your internet speed if your renting a server from some place... just confusing me.
Cable is fast, bu they're not the best for running servers on. THe best is T line. However those can be expensive so I dont expect you'll get that. Just be aware if it seems connections arnt the best.
Yea, I dout my parents would spend money on T connection for a 20 dollar First Person Shooter game =/.. If you want a 'good' server, thats registers, then dont install AMX mod. And make sure you put sys_ticrate 10000 in your server.cfg and add -ping 3 to the advanced launch options of your ds.
