Cyclone Larry

I thought I would create this thread to make members over the world aware of what is going on in Queensland Australia and just to find out if the rest of the world gets news of Cyclone Larry which has hit Innisfail up to Cairns etc these past few hours. To see if we are as important with our strength of cyclone as Katrina was.

TC Larry is a Cat 5 cyclone, the same strength as Hurricane Katrina.

So seeing as though it's a 290kph Cat 5 cyclone and one of the strongest that has every hit that area.. I was wondering did the rest of the world get news of this like we all got news of Hurricane Katrina icon_biggrin.gif

this happened a few days ago. why did you say past few hours?

is it still happening?


anyway i doubt this will get even a fraction of the coverage katrina got, cause no americas were harmed so i doubt any american news network will say much about it.

 

I heard about it. I have a friend who is an Ausi. But no i don't think the rest of the world really know about this at all... No one likes Australia

yeah my teacher had family up there. thats the only connection i have with the area. so really how many houses were blown down?

 

I believe that mainly is because it use to be a prison for the British ???
