Chuck in this power supply instead - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16817103931

Your motherboard isnt an overclocking one and you chose an overclocking cpu. confused immensly?

There is no difference in SATA and SATAII atm in terms of speed, its just not used so just a get a standard 1.5gb/s drive and its cheaper and larger - http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16822148039

Why did you get good ram for a poor overclocking board. If your not overclocking get value ram such as OCZ Value, if you are overclocking up your motherboard to a DFI LanParty Ultra-D. If your not overclocking then get this ram as it looks pretty good -

    anything I missed?

Ive had experience with that board and its a fine overclocker, nothing on the level of DFI but it does the job. And in terms of accessing files SATAII does matter.

yeah i neglected to look for OC capabilities when I was searching through...

any good $1400-1500 setups that I wont have to OC immediately (id like to wait for warranty to blow over to OC it) but will be up to par prior to OCing for a little while?

any ideas for a new overclocking system .D? (sorry for asking fast, im just posting this one last time before i head off to bed)

Whatever you think is the best setup for the $1400-1500 range.

Your current setup is fine for overclocking, but change the motherboard to a DFI LanParty Ultra-D and you will be set.
