It's an anti piracy thing, give microsoft a ring and they should be able to help you.

well, if it works on your 'storage drive' then its probably the Hard drive is ruined by maybe reformating too many times? i dont know how many times you did it in a certain period but if not, just use your storage drive ?

doesnt matter how many times you reformat. if you can put files and interact with the hard drive, then it hasnt died. try unplugging your storage drive and only having your master plugged in. could be a few problems. maybe you have the drives plugged in the wrong order with the IDE cords. could be a few things, just try messing around with it. if all else fails, just go get another hard drive, like a 40 GB would do fine for a master.

Actually, I do not have the storage drive hooked up. Due to my master 160 kb being a dma the motherboard doesn't work with 2 diffrent hard drives. And I couldn't even find any info on my hard drive back when I bought it froma store(It was only $40 witha rebate).

Well my solution was to Use linux and overwrite everything with linux and turn off power before wasting time letting linux install (it starts but doesn't finish installing the liunux kernel) and than I use the windows cd and it worked, although it seemed to have problems with speed when like going to install windows press......
