Well this is my problem: I have an 1,6 ghz computer whit 256 mb ram memory and a really good gfx card so no worry about that. My only problem is when i have playes CS 1.6 for about an 1 h ore maby earlier than that my computer just turns it self off. If you can help me out whit this i will be your friend for the rest off my life. NOTE: I have 100/10 mbit internet. :/ And i can play other games like Battle for middel earh 2 in how many hours i want and it doesnt shut it self off.
hmm, this could be a case of your processor overheating, in which case the computer would shut down automaticly. your psu could be dieing... but i doubt that. could maybe be a virus... doubt that tho. maybe your gfx card is overheating. try getting a program that monitors in systems tempuratures, most motherboards have sensors (or at least mine does), so you might be able to see like a Hardware Monitor that gives you temp readouts of your processor, system fan RPM, etc.
Use the Catylyst or whatever you got with you GFX Card to manage that. If not then you can use Powersptirp for GFX Card. Now, as for your other temperatures. Use SpeedFan. It's really good to tell you the temps of your CPU and anything else. Also, if it was your GFX Card overheating then your computer wouldn't shut down, it would shut off your card. The CPU MAY be overheating.
this is just to monitor your stuff. i just found this really nice program that monitors like a lot and has stuff to use. find a place to download CPU Cool. i think their newest version is 7.3.7.
ok sounds great. But i am a noob on that :/ i dont want to kill my computer ore something like that so what is the basic settings i sould use?
either an overheating prob or A PSU problem. open your caseand vaccuum, verify that all fans are working. next get a voltometer and test your PSU.. that should be all you can do. FYI 1.6ghz doesn't mean shid. a 1.6ghz cleron D is a whole lot diferent than a 1.6ghz pentium M or a 1.6ghz Athlon XP in terms of performance.
I think its overheating...your computer shuts itself off to prevent burning up...try to measure the temprerature of your gfx card/processor while you play..you can use CPU cool or even your gfx card drivers to do it...
Same like xeling said. Check your temperatures. I use SpeedFan for the temperatures, I config'd it so it automaticly starts up, you only got to point your mouse on the icons and it'll show. + Speedfan can also check the status of your HDD(s) (performance/fitness) and for my videocard. I have a Nvidia, most cards of them have a temperature sensor, you can see it here: Start > Config > Display > Tab advanced > avanced > goto the tab whichs shows the name of your card. > and there it should show the temperatures.
I think its Overheating like the rest of the guys have said but maybe u should invest in a Cooling Pad that would make sure that the fans get enough air and many other things just my 2 cents SOmething like this http://images.bestbuy.com/BestBuy_US/image.../6211752_ra.jpg for more info go http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage.jsp?sk...d=1074788100200 PErsonally I use this http://www.circuitcity.com/IMAGE/product/d...TBKCOOLRPEA.JPG for more info go http://www.circuitcity.com/ssm/Antec-s-Not...roductDetail.do
it just doesnt make sense to me why he can play battlefield no problem, but cs 1.6 with trouble. woulda thought battlefield would have been more strenuous
Try downloading speedfan (googleit) Run temp checks when you play cs for about an hour and then post here with the temps. If that's not the problem, I'm really not sure. I would have thought that battle for middle earth would be a whole lot more intense than cs..
if it's 1.6 it might be software related sometimes steam crashes when I open a certain map on oe particular server for no apparent reason. adaware/spybot it and I can't advis much more.
