Well, I am considering buying a new laptop, but I really dont know very much about computers. So, how much of a difference would 2.0 GHz have over 1.66 GHz. Its a difference of 125$, so I was just wondering how much of an improvement I would be seeing. Thanks
which processors?a 1.6Ghz Pentium M or Athlon will rape a 2.0 Ghz P4. also what do you need to for etc. link please or atleast list off the specs ion the newpaper add. what's your budget and how long can you put off. Within a few months it will be fairly affordable to get dual core procs in laptops.
Here are the options I can chose from: Processor Intel® Core Duo processor T2300 (1.66 GHz) -(included) Intel® Core Duo processor T2400 (1.83 GHz) -$50.00 Intel® Core Duo processor T2500 (2.0 GHz) -$125.00 Intel® Core Duo processor T2600 (2.16 GHz) -$225.00 Those are the prices of upgrading, the computer comes default with 1.66 EDIT: Im trying to stay under about 1750.00 USD. Time isnt an issue, I dont need it I would just like one, so I can and probably will wait a while.
if you game go for the 1.8 or 2.0 ghz one, don't btoehr witht he 2.13ghz one overpriced. each of those procs are rather good (for laptops) if it were me I'd have a hard choice choosing I' liekly get the 1.8ghz one or perhaps the 2.0ghz one just based off of the clock/$ ratio
Yea Right now I have the 2.0 selected and it runs up at $1524.98, but I'd also like to increase the HD. So you'd suggest 1.8 or 2.0? Would the different even be noticeable? EDIT:I copied it down wrong. 1.8 is 50 dollars, not 75.
Yea....Idk..make sure you get enough ram at least...1gb would be nice..although 512mb's would be ok try for a gig
yeah, post the link to your laptop here. we might be able to point ya out to a best one. sounds like your looking at a dell or alienware or something like that becuase your configuring it. i have had personal experience with Acer's and Gateway's, i definally prefer the Acer out of the two. Acer has some of the best deals around for good laptops.
No Im not. I was looking at a dell, I was going to get the XPS M170, but I dont wanna spend 2,000 on it. I forgot about acer, my uncle has one and its really nice, maybe I'll check em out. I was looking at an HP, not by choice. My desktop is an HP and I hate it. I'll post the link to the laptop I was looking at when I get back home. and Diablo, I had it set up with 1 gig but I'm thinking about going 2 and dropping the bigger HD.
definately go for the 1.8ghz proc, go for the 2.0 if you feal like it(either would suffice) the 2.13ghz proc is overpriced as for HDD size, how big is it and how big do you need? I have an 80gig HDD and I haven't filled it. Typically laptops aren't meant for mega mass storage and you could always buy an extra external HDD in a year if needed.
don't see how he's partially wrong here, eh looks 100% correct, as of his post, the laptop package being considered was from Dell. Dell's Laptop's aren't horid, definately better quality than their desktops. Defuzion has been partially wrong before though(calling the core Duos Pentium Ds with lower TDPs and the new CPU to be called conroe, mere technicality with a minor/partial mistake)
