here's the thing, AGP 8x results in abotu a 1% performance increase over old 4x. AGP 8xs bandwidth isnt' even close to being reached and PCI-e 16 is even farther from being reached. FYI, windows XP cannot recognize mroe than 2.4gb of ram, unless you use the 64 bit version... wait you bought an older intel P4, that won't work... no point in having mroe than 2GB of rama t this point unless you are extrordanarily rich and c an afford to dual boot XP and XP Pro 64 and are willing to have a good part of it wasted in Xp AND pro 64 as that much ram is almost never utilized.
2gb is fine. anything over is pointless unless you use big programs for rendering models or something.. games are fine at 2gb. even 1 for most.
