yes, as the tile implies, I have decided to build another new computer. I'll make it short and sweet. I'm looking for a components that can run current games and somewhat be open to the future (if it makes any sense.) I'll also use this for photoshop and 3d graphics, so I suppose decent ram is needed (although I'd probably need it for gaming too ^_^) I already have a system completely plotted, but I would like to here to see if any of your suggestions come anywhere close to what I picked. So, pretty much the entire system, subtract the case I guess. And probably a 200 gig hd. Thats all I really NEED.

oh yes, the price. I am willing to spend a maximum of $1,500 canadian dollars, which rounds out to about $1300 U.S. if my math serves me correctly.

    Thanks for the help ^_^

    hmm..particulars.

probably amd chip, for gfx I prefer nvidia (from past experience, but if better ati is cheaper, hell, I'll take it), don't care about motherboard or ram really. Don't need a monitor. Hell, I don't even need a keyboard and mouse. Speakers would be alright but I normally use headphones, so I wouldn't want them taking a big chunk out of the budget. A CD/DVD burner I would probably need. I used to use a dell for that kinda stuff, but its hard drive screwed itself over and I'm too lazy to swap it out XD

    Hope thats enough info

Don't have time to get links, but I'd reccomend these:

    Athlon 64 3700+ (socket 939) - $215
    DFI LanParty Ultra D- $123
    GeForce 7900GT - $310
    G.Skill (2 * 1GB) DDR500 Ram - $165
    Sunbeam NUUO 550W - $80
    Thermaltake Big Typhoon - $55
    Artic Silver 5 - $7
    Thermaltake Tsunami - $110
    WD 250GB HDD - $100
    NEC DVD-RW - $40
    whatever Floppy - <$10
    Windows XP Pro SP2 - $160

That will give you really great performance at a good price. All these prices are estimations in USD based on NewEgg's prices, but TigerDirect tends to be a little more.

He probly will be fine on stock cooling...
And thats a pricey case. A lower one will be fine.

    Cheapest prices:
    AMD Athlon 64 3700+
    http://dangeo.com/proddetail.php?sku=51815

    Case:
    http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applications/sea...BER&CMP=AF18258
    http://dangeo.com/proddetail.php?sku=51142
    ^Both tsunami cases^

Highly do not reccomend Maxtor. My old WD one is better than my brand new one. The one you linked to is slower than my old WD (well almost exactly the same) and its louder.
Seagate is best bet IMO if WD really is so overpriced...
    Seagate Barracuda:
    http://dangeo.com/proddetail.php?sku=51945

I dont know how good dangeo is of a site, it got 3 good reviews. So idk..
