Preferably made by well known company. as in built by. if not - highly recommended. Size is also an issue, I'll just say I have a mobo that puts teh VGA slot right below the CPU and I have this weird big ass CPU fan that sits ... 3" above the VGA slot right now. I don't care about its fan being loud - long as it doesn't overheat Ideal for gaming that'll last a while - and photochoppin. Not a big fan of ATI right now since this damn 9800 is all ----t. 200$ AT MAXIMUM. CHEAP IS SPLENDID! (125$-215$) i'm fine with ordering off somwhere (reliable) or chain store (bestbuy, etc) if i forgot other info - i'll supply as requested
ok so you have agp. This would be the ideal chip to get. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16814143045 Let me know if its too much.
I would get the eVGA 6800GS. They've got a lifetime warranty, even if you overclock the card or replace the heatsink. Also, they have a 90-day step up program, so that if you want to step up to a newer, more powerful card, you can just return your card to them, and pay the difference between what you bought the original for and the price of the new card. (Plus shipping and taxes) Also, they're just a good company to deal with.
id get thism if u can afford it http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16814133422 its got a lifetime warrenty. and its already factory overclock to 1100mhz and 470 mhz, i have this one in pci-e and trust me its worth it
he needs AGP, didnt you read? eVGA is definally the way to go IMO, and same with the 9800. very good card for the $$$. just dropped in price because of the 7900, my brother and i are both about to buy one (just need like $50 more). http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.asp?...N82E16814130264 almost same as deFuzion's, but if you can bump it up to $225, then this is the card to get. its core clock is 30 Mhz faster and its memory clock 50 Mhz faster then the BFG; plus, i have heard evga very reliable.
