Idea?!

Well, i was just looking on some websites, then i had the weirdest idea.. LOTTERY! Like, every week, people would pay so many creds for a ticket, then they would get a ticket with a number on or something, and at the end of the week, one number is picked at random, and the winner gets to keep all of the credits. What you guys/girls think??

 

Its a nice idea but there are scam probs there too, people register false accounts and try to get 2 entries =\

 

Hmmm, good point, but suppose you could solve that by like, you have to have 150 posts to enter?

 

I had an idea like this i ran by llamaman a while ago. You would just pay so many credits and buy a 'ticket' and then you would have a random drawing. Whoevers ticket matches the winning number then they get 50% of the pot. The rest of the credits are removed from the system.

 

I thnk its a good idea, but there a ramdom money item in the shop. So might as well gamble with that

 

its nice but still has alot of flaws you have to think of it from a scammers perspective, how can this go wrong? it can in alot of ways, why take the chance.....

 

Maybe if we were to try it, only GR staff could make the threads so you know you the person with your credits won't scam you. I like the idea because it could get some excess credits out of the system.

 

thats true. If i mod would take care of it. it would be cool and excess creds would be gone. Wuch is very good because creds are starting to be worth less and less. I remember when 1000 creds was worth at lest 10$ USD now its like 6$ USD

 

SO do people think this will go ahead? Please post suggestions, and yes or no answer

 

Its a good idea, but the price of the ticket would have to be affordable, so that all of GR can enjoy lottery... although it is a rather bad habbit.

And all that talk abuot new accounts being made and all, you knew that Llamaman and BiG_Dave can see in the server log wich members regustered in the past etc and see the IP?

Yeah, any other opinions on the idea?

 

We have the technology to put it on but we have chosen not to at this very moment of time. One reason is the inflation it may cause and the de-valuing of the credits, but another is equity (fairness), and some times people would not win. We may decide in future to put it on but it's main aim will be to cut out some of the credits in circulation and but the winner will still get a large amount of credits from winning.

But this is all just a proposal, lots of work to go through before deciding whether or not to accept this lottery modification.
