    Ok i have this monitor

    http://www.usereasy.com/product_4384.html

Currently i have my resolution set at 1024 X 768 and i want to change it to 1280 X 1024

I tried to do that through the display settings and i restarted my computer like it told me but when it boot back up it was in 1024 X 768 again.

I dont think that its the video card but i dunno.

go to desktop properties, click the seetings tabs, go to advanced. in the window that pops up, make sure "Apply the new display settings without restarting" is selected.

that restart stuff is only for color changes, not screen resolutions.

    it should work ok.

I hate built in GFX cards. Atleast get a nVidia or ATI card.

PS: Is ur PC AGP or PCI?

I think you might need something abit more powerful than onboard graphics to achieve 1280*1024. I mean my Radeon 9800 pro only goes up to 1024*768 (or maybe it's just my monitor doesn't support it).
