Hey, i recently reformmated my comp, and a game that used to work before now isnt, Whats happening is it goes Very slowly and laggy after a few secs in the game (Menus and stuff dont lag) Game Specs Minimum Windows 98/ME/2000/XP PIII 600 MHz Processor or Equivalent 128 MB of RAM DirectX 8.1 Compatable Video Card with 8 MB VRAM Recommended PIII 1000 MHz Processor or Equivalent 256 MB of RAM DirectX 8.1 Compatable Video Card with 16 MB Ram My Specs Windows XP Professional SP2 AMD Duron Processor 1.61 GHz 768 MB Of Ram NVIDIA GeForce2 MX/MX 400 DirectX 9.0c Umm what is VRAM? Virtual Ram? if so then that might be it, how do i make it work or what ever, it used to before, Or if its drivers, could anyone find one, i tryed its too hard to get ones that work
Strangely there are no ingame settings, its one called Galactic Civilizations, I Used to use to to try and learn how to hack, It taught me how to Change Cash and Stats
I Havent tryed hacking of the CD so that shouldnt be it, Nor have i even tryed yet since the reformat, Also i got my old Restart bug back, but i believe ive found the cause, its my EyeToy, I set up as webcam but i think thats why, Doesnt seem to do anything to the game though now ive uninstalled it, Just stays same, Laggy as hell
did you install your drivers for your computer? video drivers are neccessary to properly use the card. Check Nvidia's site for the latest driver set. as to what vRAM is, it is VIDEO ram. for most current games you need 64-128mb of Vram with some of the more intensive ones liking 256. for older games though you're fine, just install the dirvers
Yea thats prob it, i dont recall installing them Um, The Nvidia Site kinda Confuses me Is this the driver i need for my GeForce2 MX/MX 400?, http://www.nvidia.com/object/winxp_2k_84.21.html ? Merged Post: Ok, i installed the Drivers, Now i Started to Play again and got the same, Look GalCiv.exe (The Game), Its CPU collum thingy was around 50-90 but didnt press screenshot intime
ok, you need to fix that, that process is most likely spyware or adware or something you don't want, REMOVE IT ASAP. check our PC protection threads, avast, spybot, and adaware are a must http://www.nvidia.com/content/drivers/drivers.asp go there, then go GFX drivers, GeForce and TNT2 then your windows OS
Kk thanks, Im downloading Avast and Adaware right now, Umm the game is infected? Oh Well, ive moved to a new game now lol, Space Colony EDIT: Umm after about 10-20 mins of playing Space Colony it Brings up a Encountered Error and needs to close, Any help on this please? works perfectly in that time, And when it comes up, i looked on The Task Manager, Nothing was unusual, Ill try patching the game and using a diff tool like TMK and see if that works
