I got some music stored on some ftp space,,how do I copy the url within SmartFTP so other people can download? If I right-click on the mp3 file and copy url>FTP my pass is shown  So is there an other way? Chau
I think you have to make another account and log in through that, then get that URL. Not sure though.
Either what was mentioned above or just give a direct link of the url to the song you want ppl to be able to download.
If it's smartftp doesn't it mean he should have a url like say http://blahblahblah.com/folder/filename?
When I right click>choose URL which of the 4 do I need? Well,,I don't know the direct link. This should be the diret link: http://www.zuidwest.clashx.com/Muziek/Kimo VS Excellent - Eigen Rechter Spelen Mag.mp3 I already tried without capslock on,,this is the server is connect to: ftp.zuidwest.clashx.com Chau
You would need the one that says direct link so most likely the 1st one and make sure it's the exact same way in the FTP
http://www.zuidwest.clashx.com/Muziek/Kimo VS Excellent - Eigen Rechter Spelen Mag.mp3 thats not a valid URL, it would be http://www.zuidwest.clashx.com/Muziek/Kimo...pelen%20Mag.mp3 also very important to check the folder access restrictions, or the chmod. if its in a /www/ folder, it should work, but i'd need more detail on it.
If I copy the url from the first one it reveals my log in name and pass. I right-clicked on the folder Muziek and opened Properties. Everything is unchecked. Can you tell me what to check: User: Read - Write - Execute - Set UID Group: Read - Write - Execute - Set GID Others: Read - Write - Execute - Sticky
Anyone? 25 Creds for who can help me Merged Post: Ok,,I moved the file on the folder www and now people can acces it. But if you go to the link the song is played,,not downloaded. How to fix this?
This is the FTP link you have: Code: ftp://name:[email protected]/public_html/uploads/ufxsmudge.gif You have to edit it to the http verison, and remove public_html. In my case that would be: http://pxstudios.chaosb0b.com/uploads/ufxsmudge.gif
naturally browsers play the file in the browser. to download them, either make and put them in a .zip (etc.) or have them click like some 'Save File As...' function with there browser, not sure, usually dont d/l songs like that
