Hey, For a few months, ive had a Really slow internet Connection, but didnt realise until my m8 with same connection speed n isp n stuff download something that took me over 5 hours in 10 mins

    Heres some things
The Speed it should be: 12mbps
ISP: BlueYonder Broadband (Trusted in the UK (Big Company!))

    I ran a test n got this
dslreports.com speed test result on 2006-03-11 14:41:02 EST:
    419 / 109
    Your download speed : 419 kbps or 52.4 KB/sec.

    Your upload speed : 109 kbps or 13.6 KB/sec.

But, for some reason i dont realy trust that, Is there any other test ya could tell me and
does any one know how to speed up the connection back to how it should be?

Talk to your ISP - get them to have a look at it. You might even get some money back ^_^.

might be your comp or the servers you go to.

cleans it of filth check the free ainti virus stuff pinned here.

Also check your hardware, under win 9x you need atleast 256mb of ram to be comfortable and under XP you need a bit more.

are you sure you even have 12 mb? They dont have that in England yet, the highest Ive heard of (for average home users) is 8mb. On the blue yonder website I see they only offer a maximum of 10 mbit.

Assuming you do actually have a 12mbit connection, there is still a chance that you are unable to recieve speeds higher than 512kbit in your area. Depending on where you live, you will have different download speeds even if you and your friend have the same ISP.

Also, try loggin into your router by typing 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1 or something like that into your browser bar, and it should tell you your download/upload speeds on the stats page.

Also, when you said that your friend downloaded that 800 mbit file in 5 mins..thats pretty unrealistic, because in order to download that fast he would need a 24mbit connect to even come close to downloading it at that speed. So I think youve got your information wrong just a bit,
