It's a good movie like you said, just different. Instead of showing the life of a marine from the combat field it's more from the mental angle and how they are mentaly affected. I enjoyed it, but as you said it is NOT an action movie. 5 out of 5.
See i have to stop there.. sorry, i havn't read any posts from ^that one^ down.. The only people who say ^that^ are the people who were expecting another Black Hawk Down or Saving Private Ryan... "ACTION-ACTION-ACTION!!!!!!"... "I wanna see blood".. ect ect Grow up! and appreciate a good movie for what it really is "A Comedy/Political movie with abit of action in it" I knew what to expect when i saw Jarhead at the movies.. Therefor - I loved it Seriously.... what a great movie! The acting was extremly well pulled-off... Jamie Foxx and the rest of the characters were hilarious, i could not stop laughing at what they got upto in the Desert And even when the lil' bit of action did start (graphically, when they started burning the oil fields), it was insane and very well done I mean... That part where the oil drenched horse walks up to Jake Gyllenhaal's character in the middle of the burning fields is just sooo powerful and anyone who denies that, seriously doesn't know a good film when they see it I found your review, "Blazeman", to be... well.... you were half right  To anyone who hasn't seen it.... see it thinking your going to see a comedy... not a HARDCORE war/action movie... If you see it thinking like that(like you should have been thinkin' anyway)... U'L LOVE IT!
yea i was disappointed by the lack of action in this movie a real big upset ....but it was still good and a bit funny when hes discussing about what hand to use in masturbation
"Welcome to the suck" I loved this film.. I was already told that there was lack of action in the film it was more of a fly on the wall, but i went with my girlffriend and we both enjoyed it
it was a great movie, everyone expected it to be full of action, but that wasn't the point of the movie anyways, it was to show what war does to ppl, you need to read the book to full appriciate the movie
