True dat, that is why you save your disks to another partition on your HDD. Anyways, google it. You will get much more reliable info. doing so. Even though I can tell you, http://google.com it.

    1. Boot up and hit F2 or del rapidly so you get into your BIOS.
    2. Once in BIOS find your boot config and make your CD-ROM first on the boot priority list.
    3. Put your restore disk in the CD-ROM drive and reboot.
    4. Once your system boots up with the cd it will give you a couple of options.
    5. Since you want to format entirly then dont repair and go onto the second stage.
    6. Make sure you delete all info on your HDD so you get a clean reformat, do this by hitting d when you see the option to format.
    7. After deleing all info on your HDD then choose to install your OS of choice and it should be good on its own for a while.
    8. When its done setuping up it will boot up and install Windows (im assuming youre installing windows) and ask you for what time zone you line in.
    9. Once you pass that it will be on its own from there.
    10. Well, there is no step 10, your done.

F1, F2, F4, F6, Delete are the keys I have seen for BIOS, so if one doesn't work you can try the next, but usually, it tells you on a screen.
