Nope, never heard of "inferred", but I have heard of "Infared"

oh i learned this in science class 2 days ago actlyy. infrared is the visable light the help heat the earth adn is responsible for 80% of the heat taht hits earth. so if your phone has infrared it might be a portable food warmer or somin that requires heat

You get a cookie for the information.
Fun fact: Your TV remote uses infrared technology to tell your TV what to do!

Too bad you spelled it wrong- it's Infrared :P

I hope you're joking- you can't warm food with a cell phone! I doesn't give off nearly enough heat!

@.jrauck- You can use the infrared capability on your phone to connect it to something that has a receiver. For example, my coumputer has the capability to use infrared, so I use it to sync my Pocket PC to it. You can use it to transfer ringtones, graphics, or connect to another phone (if your phone supports that option. :D

    I needs me some proof!

MasterC-Good job on attempting to steal renegades thunder. And failing.

I bet you didn't even get the joke. "Inferred" is a process. "Infared/Infrared" are light waves. Aka "zomg lazers pewpewpew".

Many pocket PCs can connect via infrared. You usually need bluetooth to connect to most pcs

Its actually infrared like Renegade said.

    infrared
n noun electromagnetic radiation having a wavelength just greater than that of red light but less than that of microwaves, emitted particularly by heated objects.
n adjective of or denoting such radiation.

"Quoted From Conceise Oxford English Dictionary"

You can connect it to your com using an infrared port which looks like an infrared detector on one end and a usb port on the other. Align your phone's infrared with the infrared detector and you're basically good to go to start transferring files back and forth.

Also, anyone remember gameboy colors, and there use of infrared technology? Remember how you didn't need a link cable?
