lol yeah, nice link. im still reading the article. tons of good stuff in there. i didnt think the upgrade from the 7800 to the 7900 would be so great. plus, these cards are being sold for a really good price as you have mentioned.

they are more or less the same hing but on a bettre manufacturing process. they just reduced the transistor count and clocked the 7800s higher, that's all. Still it's a bit better, less heat and electric consumption and with cards this hot that starts to get vital.

when your relating with the 7800GTX 512mb with the 7900GTX 512mb is reasonable, still they are somewhat cheaper and faster. 690mhz core clock speed?
on the other hand there is a difference between a 7800GT and the 7900GT, first off, 7900GT has 24 pipe,
second, it cost just as much as the 7800GT,
and third they are bit more powerful then the regular 7800GTX.

and they have a lower transistor count. You cannnot over clock mroe transistors, if you fully OCed a 7800GTX with adequate cooling it would outperform a fully OCed 7900GT.

    transistor counter> everything

if they had the same count, the 7900s would eb a lot more impressive, but nVidia wanted to produce a cheaper card at a higher profit margin.

read the articles before posting. the advantage sis lesser power consumption and cheaper cost to make due to the improved manufacturing cost. They use less energy because of such. but they produce just as much heat because they simply clock the transistors faster.
