As I recall, Alienware makes pretty decent computers. But they love to put a huge premium on their prices.

I think they market towards a very specific audience: hardcore gamers who can't build their own computers. (It's just plug-and-play! Like a 50-piece puzzle, counting the screws)

I think they are good quality and ---- for the money you pay.

your system is decent, but it won't get the same gaming performance as someone who spent less and had gotten the athlon x2 3800+ or about the same and and gotten an opteron 175 and OC-ed it to 2.8ghz

at the price you must have spent, you really should have done some more research.

Alienware charges a premium for the PCs, but their cases are top-notch and offer great cooling...or so I'm told. For that kind of money though, you could probably build your own PC and toss in better components AND still get great cooling if you pick the right case. It's all a matter of opinion really. If you can afford it, why not? =)

Meh, I can buy one of these every two years. =)

I don't want something lower after these oppinions... so far I got, "They are great but they are overpriced." ;) Pricing doesn't bother me at all.
