Ok, first of all, I would try to talk to Bob and Joe. If they're real good friends of yours, then you definitely want to level with them first and get all of this off your chest. Pretty much just tell them what you are thinking, and if they're really your friends, then you should be okay because they will respect your decisions, whatever you decide. If they are okay with it, I would try to stay in touch with Girl. Friends and family are the two things in the world that really matter, and good friends are hard to come by. The way I'm reading your description of Girl, I think you and she must be pretty good friends, or at least comfortable around each other.
