I totally want a Ouiji board.
But my mum is really spiritual etc. And doesn't want ghosts in our house, so I'm not allowed one.

I totally believe in ghosts. Although, I've seen people use Ouija boards on tv, and it's pretty freaky.

all boards revolve around the same concept.

Voodoo, Ouiji boards, etc. all revolve around you having to believe in it. Its a superstitious belief that scares you or opens your mind to more possibilities. If you dont believe in ghosts, ouiji boards wont do anything for you, its simply a matter of you moving your own hand around trying to impress ur friends that you were being guided by some ghostly being.

Think of it this way, Bloody Mary when we were children. All the rumors that if you said Bloody Mary 3 times into your bathroom mirror with the lights of at the stroke of midnight and a crimson red (from blood) woman would come and kill you. If you didnt believe you didnt see anything. If you believe, on the other hand, your mind plays tricks on you and conjures an image that your mind sees as w/e your trying to do (your interpretation of bloody mary in other words).

Anything involving contacting the spiritual world (even prayers) require a belief that whatever you are doing is real and is not fake. The rest is a subconscious effect your brain creates to make it seem like reality. Personally I went into a bathroom with 2 of my other friends when we were about 6 at midnight and did the Bloody Mary thing, 2 of us chated it 3 times and didnt see anything or feel any different. However, the person in between us had a huge panic attack. My mom woke up a little after midnight and came out and comforted him until his mom could come over and get him later that day.

As i said, anything like demons/angels/ghosts/etc. are all beliefs you honestly and fully believe in that your mind conjures up as thats what you think is going to happen. For example, take a look at seances. Group of people, usually around 10-13 people in a group(the origional witch number for groups was set at 13, one of the reasons the number 13 has a bad name, like Friday the thirteenth). If you have ever heard of people doing a real life seance, not everyone will see something, and those who do see something, if you talk to them seperately, will all have different stories. Now im not saying they didnt see something, but they only see what their mind allows them to see.

My look on boards is that if your into having a lot of faith in everything and are very suspicious about everything and often times are suprised by things, they would not be for you, as your mind is likely to produce something that ultimately will scare/suprise you.

Now, I do have the belief that ghosts are real, but i also have another belief that those people who can see REAL ghosts (not just the ones our mind conjures up) are the only people who can see those ghosts. Usually they are deeply tormented by their visions (from what ive seen). All those publically announced "Ghost Hunters" kind of people I feel are a whole load of ----. I know someone who I can honestly say I believe him in 100% truth that he has seen something, whether it be a ghost, spirit, angel, demon, etc. he saw something. He is deeply troubled by it, he used to be mr. social, now he sits in his pure white room (not a mental hospital room, just everything he has is white) most of the day, rarely coming out in public except for things hes required to do (work, school, etc.). He is quite literally scared for his life that something is out to get him now and has been for about 4 years. If you didnt know him beforehand you would have thought he just had a severe form of paranoid schizophrenia. He goes to weekly therapist/psychology/counseling meetings, but they arent helping.

I was actually with him when he developed this. It was in the middle of a weekend (saturday night) and we were asleep and he woke up hearing something and then woke me up. I told him I didnt hear anything and he started walking around his house, starting in the basement and working up into his second story. On his way back to his bedroom he looked down his basement step and just scrame and ran into his room, slammed the door and curled up into a ball in the corner of his bed. Keep in mind, he was 13 at the time, this isnt normal 13 y/o behavior for things that scare you. He wouldnt talk, he wouldnt look up, he wouldnt do anything until the next day when his mom and i managed to get him to stand up with a blindfold and walked him our to her car and she took him to a hypnotherapist. Now I go over once a week or so for an hour or two and just talk to him, sometimes well watch a movie, but not too often.

That experience alone gives me reason enough not to even want to bother with boards/voodoo/etc.

I just read all of what you said and I've gotta say I completely agree with you on every point.

Hopefully that'll teach some people about all this supernatural stuff.

I agree with the "Ghost Hunter"
    That's a load of crap.

Apparently when I was like...3 years old.
I used to run screaming around the house because a "Man" was after me, a ghost...
I don't remember anything about it, but I know that i was s*** scared..

I very much believe in Ghosts, and I have my own reasons for such. However, I do have my doubts that somthing made by Parker Brothers would be effective in Channeling them, and if it is so effective, Why the hell does everyone want to **** with that sh**?!

I think, it's just symbolism. You're not really "speaking" with the dead. It's just your conscience thoughts being expressed in a physically subconscience way. But on the other hand, I have heard stories about weird things that happen when people used those, but I'm not sure. I do believe in the paranormal, but I'm not sure where the line begins and ends. So I guess I'm against the quiji boards just because I've heard nothing but bad stories about them.
