Who makes your graphics card? Is the card functioning correctly?

    Hmm... need more info.

Go Start > Run and type "EventVwr.msc" without the quotes. Go into the application tab. There should be some "Errors". Go to the topmost one and click on it. Copy what it says or make a screenshot. Post that.

If no errors are listed, post.

    Download HijackThis

Run it, scan, and show us the log file. This program will show a list with all programs/Services/... running.

Ok - double click on that error and a new box should appear. Make a screenshot of that and/or copy what it says. You may want to do that for 2 or 3 errors down as well.

I would recommend you update your video card drivers. If you are unsure how to, post.

Don't be too sure... at least go and check. It is most likely that this is the problem. Bad drivers were causing the problem before, certainly. From the information I have, it is likely bad drivers are still the problem. Graphics cards are renound for causing all sorts of problems if the drivers are not up to date.

Also, if your card is as old as you say it is, it may not be compatible with the computer or soemthing. Go and look on the nVidia website.

Are they still there? The drivers could be conflicting... If possible though, I would still update your current card's drivers...

    Anyway...
Go Start > Control Panel > System > Hardware > Device manager

Graphics cards are listed under display adapters. Right click it and choose "Uninstall".

Go Start > Run and type "dxdiag" without the quotes. Go to display.

    Post a screenshot.
