I just bought a Plantronics .Audio 100 headset. The sound works fine, but the stupid mic doesn't wanna work. I tried the mic on a different machine, but there it work pretty well (probably because the other 1 is a Dell, and this 1 is a custom). I keep thinking that my audio might not be working because my motherboard (which is what the headphones are connected to...I checked) play and record HD sound. My MB is the Asus P5WD2 Premium. The problem is only in the sound recording, and in volume I made everything almost full. I tried goin to plantronics.com but they don't see to care about the .audio 100.

    anyone got any ideas...or advice?

which program are you trying this mic on? If its something like TeamSpeak then make sure that the Configuration is correct, if not then go to Strat>Control Panel>Sound and Audio Devices click Audio Tab, make sure that Sound Recording is set to the right device, then go to the Voice Tab and make sure that one is correct also.

I tried that too but I only have ESS something and my HD audio.

But i went to the plantronics side and found out that my headset is an ANALOG headset, and my HD audio is probly digital...anyone know how to change it from analog to digital? It's weird because I still had sound even thought I didn't change it yet.

I thought your headphones work? i thought the problem was with the mic? analog and digital is for output only i believe, I have something called Sound effect manager which came with my drive and i can choose if i want digit out or not.

Not sure what the problem would be. What program did u try the microphone on?

I tried my mic on sound recorder, the "test sound recording" in control panel, vetrilo, and TS2. In all of them theres absolutly no responce, or if i'm lucky, it'll say something happened...but definatly too small to be a voice. And yes, the problem is only with microphone.
