Nice processor, good reviews too. But a tad expensive for my taste. Try this processor. It is only $357. You can save some money on the RAM if you get two of these. I am not a big fan of the case you chose, I think there are just too many drive bays. Maybe this. That has a 500W power supply. Personally I love this case. Lastly, what are you doing getting a 120gb hard drive? I would recommend something with more gigs. Better to have too much hard drive space than not enough. Try this. It is your choice and your money, do what you want with it. I am happy with building a computer around $500-600, but the only difference would be some watts, 1 gig of ram, and .2 ghz.
Get both IMO. At least just look in the paper for advertisements like circuit city or best buy and see what they have rebates on. 120gb wont be enough if your a gamer, plus a backup HD is always good..
Heh, you're planning on building pretty much the same system I'm gonna build. I'll throw in my two cents... The RAM looks good, but from what I've seen, the OCZ Titanium 2gig Dual Channel RAM is at the top of pretty much all of the benchmarks at a few review sites. I think the price is pretty much the same too. I like the mobo, but since you're going high-end on most of your hardware, why not go for an ASUS A8N32-SLI Deluxe. Good from what I've seen... I've read an insane number of reviews on how that Antec... I think it would be a good buy for you. HD... same one I'm getting. You might want to throw in a 7200 RPM Caviar with a lot of space for extra storage... movies, music, etc. I like that case, but if you're gonna spend that much, why not get a Lian-Li... just personal preference, but... they're so pretty. >.> That heatsink+fan looks good. Personally, I'm gonna get the Thermaltake Big Typhoon. Read a few benchmarks, and it keeps the procs tested pretty cool... Hope I've helped you. ^.^
Since youve chosen to use a DFI board you have the advantage of having an entire fourm to help you through your problems, questions and overclocking (if you do so). Stick with the antec psu, they are more stable than the OCZ's. You dont need an aftermarket heatsink but if you want get the Thermaltake Big Typhoon, however it will void your motherboard and cpu warranties.
Actually Defuzion you are wrong. OCZ powersupplys kick Antecs ass. OCZ are what all the top overclockers are using.
I dont know where you get your info from but OCZ's PSUs are top of the line and if you check on the street the powerstram 520w is the most highly recommended PSU for any DFI build. Well that and PC P&C.
whatever you guys think, but in australia lots of us stick with antecs as they have proven the most stable (on a big pc forum).
I know of Antec being good, never heard of OCZ being good or bad or anything. I'd say go with antec. They are about the same power anyway, and antec is much cheaper. Also I believe antec has better ratings right?..
Actually no Diablo the OCZ will hold the wattage better and will have higher quality amps. The Antec is cheaper but if he is going boku on the System go Boku on the psu

Defuzion, most of those complaints are about it being incapable of handling australias voltage output. I am hardly an expert on PSUs and will not pretend to be one, but skim through that thread.
And here is a list of PSU's highly recommended by moderators of DFI-street which are in direct contact with the manufactures in japan. Maybe in australia OCZ is bad but in america OCZ is top of the line quality.
