For school i have to hand in an assignment about Impressionism, but the fact is that you have to use both a book and a internet site, but in our library; all the books about that are loaned atm, because many classes have to hand them in at the same time. So does anyone has a book about it and willing to scan 1/2 pages of it? (short view of what impressionism is) Thanks in advance Nielz
Impressionism n noun 1 a style or movement in painting characterized by a concern with depicting the visual impression of the moment, especially in terms of the shifting effect of light. 2 a literary or artistic style that seeks to capture a feeling or experience rather than to achieve accurate depiction. 3 Music a style of composition in which clarity of structure and theme is subordinate to harmonic effects. DERIVATIVES Impressionist noun & adjective ORIGIN from French impressionnisme, from impressionniste, originally applied unfavourably with reference to Monet's painting Impression: soleil levant (1872). Quoted from "Oxford Dictionary" Sorry, don't have a book about it though.
