I can't wait for the Vista to come out. Merged Post: Actually, Office XP is an application software from Microsoft. Office XP is what has Word, PowerPoint, etc. The four versions of XP are: *Windows XP Home *Windows XP Professional *Windows XP Media Center Edition *Windows XP Professional 64-bit Edition
ME was crap, xp was not based on it. win95 was better than ME, come to think of it I would rather use 3.1. Anyways now im going to start using MAC OS X TIGER 1.0.4.4 as I got a copy hot off the press and about to install on my pc.
yup just wait for all bugs to be worked out of the thing me my self is waiting till they stop making the good games for XP
http://dictionary.reference.com/search?q=flavas don't know what a flava is. English... as for there being multiple versions... this has been known for a while, tere are what, five - six versions of XP at this time if I am not mistaken... it's not that huge a leap FYI, it's all bull, there should only be one version which has everything and not 5+ versions which boost profit margins. Merged Post: you mean 2GB, 2gb is recomended... FYI whoever said it was just a GUI update was an idiot, Vista is based off of win server 03, just like XP Pro 64... now that I've started thinking, I'll probably just be getting XP Pro 64 insteed of vista, 90% of the advantages and only like 10% of the disadvantages... you knwo M$ will take it off the market soon before Vista's release.
Flavor... MCe or tabletop is not made for desktops. And yes, there are OEMs for every OS.. tho the main XP OS's are: XP Home XP Pro XP Pro 64 XP Media Edition there are several versions that derive from that, but those are the main ones you can buy in a store.
Uh, dude. MCe means Media Center Edition. That's what he meant. The Tablet PC Edition is for notebook with the tablet PC hardware. You'll find this OS only available on tablet PC (which I definitely want in the future once I get a tablet PC).
There are also Euro versions of all of the XP OS's becuase of Microsoft arguing with the EU (The only difference is that they don't have Windows Media Player). I'll probably get Windows Vista Ultimate becuase of the great networking features I've heard about (It had better be better than XP, setting up a wireless network to co -exist with a wired network is hell). Although I wont get it until just before my first LAN
sorry, never heard it being called MCe before, I just saw it written out... O well. I don't really care. I'm sticking with my Windows XP Pro W/SP2 Corporate Edition. Got it as a present from the techs at my college for doing intern with 'em for a semester. But, from what i heard, there is going to be a 32 and 64-bit edition for all 4 of the 'flavas', so in a sense, there is really going to be 8...
I was going to choose the Home Premium because of the Media Center feature, but I want to get the Ultimate because it has the media feature and networking (wireless) capability. That's what I need if I want to use my laptop.
