    aiight guys, i have a spare computer that i rlly barelyy use and its rlly good too. AMD athlon, 1 gb of ram, etc.... i want to know how to change ur comp into a battlefield 2 server. i dont care how much money it costs me for the files i just need to know how to. and it needs to be ranked also. please help me.

    well, it less depends on your pc that ur using than ur connection, unless youve got an incredible connection, i wouldnnt try to start a server

    i have optimum online and i rlly dont care i just need to know how. does anyone know how to chane a computer into a bf2 ranked server. not unranked i need ranked and i will pay.

    Ooh. I always thought you needed a really fast compy to run a dedicated server. :unsure:

    Well, in any case if you want to download thy magic Linux. Linux is Godly for its lack of viruses, just that it doesn't run like Windows does. Some have GUIs (graphical user interfaces), some are command line.

    Remember cmd.exe and DOS? Yeah. That's all in most of them. That's Linux... Red Hat preferably, or Gentoo.

    Or just use XP. Download server stuff from Server Software, but I have no idea about ranked, but Unranked is here, just install a copy of Windows Server '03 or XP... I think.

    EDIT: To take advantage of all the bandwith you want, google up T1 or T3 providers. Take Road Runner Buisness Class for instance. Be prepared to spend +300 for a nice T3. Around 200 for a good T1.

    or u can look in the eagames folder, im pretty sure if u started the "start a standalone server" option, youd be able to run a ded.

    why not just pay someone to host your server?

    you need atleast a 1mg internet line i think...
